Phil Cannella – Phillip Cannella Media: Phil Cannella, like so many of us, has pondered the age old question; “What if I never need it?” in reference to insurance. This is an often repeated argument from those who question if the cost associated with a form of insurance is worth it or just a waste of money.
A good point that Phil Cannella makes is this; if you invest in insurance, let’s say long term care insurance which is designed to protect you in cases where you need some form of long term medical care, and you use the insurance, you obviously are happy you had it. Certainly, if you file a claim because of a need and it is honored by the insurance company you feel the dollars you spent were well invested.
Now, Phil Cannella explains, what if you never used it at all? Well, that is really a good thing too. You buy car insurance in case you or some other driver wrecks your car. You feel comfortable knowing you are financially protected in case of a crash. At the same time, you hope you won’t have a crash.
“It is just the same with any other form of insurance,” explains Phil Cannella, “you don’t want to use it but you want to sleep well at night knowing you are protected in case an unfavorable event does happen.”
